WHY STRANGE BIRD?

Where did the name “strange bird” come from?

We chose the name Strange Bird as a nod to those clients and hairstylists that never quite “fit” the traditional salon environment:

  • the sensitive folks

  • the quieter folks

  • the neurodivergent folks

  • the deeply creative folks

  • the activists

  • the folks who prefer calm

  • the music nerds

  • the sensory sensitive folks

  • the chemically sensitive folks

  • the folks that are low maintenance with their styling routines

  • the folks that are ready to embrace their natural texture

  • the folks who are constantly working to be an inclusive and safe human to others with their skill and languagE

  • the folks who want a haircut that feels like THEM- not anyone else.

Strange Bird is for all the stylists and clients who are seeking a different, calmer, kinder, and more affirming salon experience.
