A cutting specialist from day one, Lo is proficient in both scissor and razor cutting and loves creating effortless, lived-in shapes for her clients that last for months and months. Though she can cut all textures, Lo specializes in thick hair, wavy-curly and coily textures and haircut corrections. Her dedication to her craft and sharing techniques with stylists as an educator over the past decade led her to create a haircutting curriculum that she teaches to hairstylists across the country with the notorious indie education agency The Left Brain Group. A passion for a more mindful, inclusive and caring salon experience for both her staff and clientele led her to opening Strange Bird Salon in 2021.

FAQ

I want to buy…

Looking for a product that your stylist referred you to, but can’t quite remember? Scroll up to the bios to find your stylist, click the shopping cart to look on your own or the mail icon to send them a quick message asking what the product was.

how do i prep my hair?

We love a prepared guest! We recommend that all clients come in with clean, dry, detangled hair styled in the way that you typically style it every day.

how do i schedule?

It starts with finding the stylist that suits your aesthetic the best. Everyone has their own preferences, so we encourage you to take a look at our Strange Bird Instagram for a look at all of our stylists and start to narrow it down to your favorite. You can schedule through the links above on the stylist bios.

I’m a new client, what should I book?

Here at Strange Bird Salon, we believe that you shouldn’t rush a beautiful haircut experience. All new clients are required to book a 2 hour new client haircut experience This gives us ample time to have a thorough consultation, in depth hair and scalp care at our shampoo bowls, relaxing scalp massage, and plenty of time to ask questions to set you up for success while styling your new cut at home. In addition, this gives our artists the right amount of time to do what they do best, while giving you a cut that you will love for months and months.

At the end of your service, your stylist will recommend the ideal timing for your next haircut and get you scheduled in advance.

where should i park?

Our East location has plenty of free street parking along 6th. Our nearby cross streets are Robert T. Martinez and Pedernales. Our suite is on the East side of the building closest to the train tracks.

how do i cancel an appt?

Whether it was a scheduling error or a last minute hiccup, the easiest way to cancel your haircut is to message your hair stylist yourself. They should be able to help you get rescheduled in a timely manner.

We do have late cancellation policies in effect for all of our stylists and fees may occur if you are cancelling your appointment less than 24-48 hours beforehand or not showing up at all.

I am running late to my appt.

I think we have all been there. Don’t panic, just reach out to your stylist and let them know as soon as you know you are going to be late. We do have a 15 minute grace period., anything longer than 15 minutes will be subject to a late cancellation fee and/or rescheduling.
